Heritage Powder Coating Stands The Test Of Time

We all know that hot dip galvanizing lasts a very long time and most jobs will last many decades. However, we are also asked about how long our powder coating lasts. This is always a difficult question to answer as there are many variables regarding the product, the site and its application that can influence this. So what better way of answering the question than to find some of the earliest jobs that we powder coated and see what condition they are in today?

Back in January 2013 we coated a series of balustrade panels for Whitley Court, an English Heritage site located in rural Worcestershire. Our customer was Caple Forge of How Caple in Herefordshire. Caple Forge is a family run business started in 1975 and to this day are specialists in blacksmithing and steel fabrication. They fabricated the 24 balustrade panels and asked us to hot dip galvanize and powder coat them.

Ten years later and the balustrade panels are still in situ at the dramatic ruins of the old house and the powder coating is still as good as new. Our featured photo shows some of the balustrades in January 2013 (left) and the same view taken in October 2022. Spot the difference!
